Weekend Reflection #2

We've had a great week here at our house! Jody's back has gotten so much better this week and he was actually able to move around and even do a little work here at the end of the week! He did go to the doctor on Wednesday and get a prescription for a muscle relaxer, which I think definitely contributed to his recovery!

Monday I interviewed for two positions - for the same office - and was pretty sure that I would be offered one of the jobs. The Director, D, who conducted the interviews asked me, at the end of the two interviews, which job I was most interested in for hire. I told her my preference and left, not knowing which one would be offered to me.

I had also interviewed last week for three City government positions and was almost leaning toward accepting one of those positions, if offered. The city job was closer to home, which I thought would make a big difference. When I had the interview I was told that it might take up to 2 1/2 weeks before I would get an offer - government "red tape" you know.

Wednesday afternoon I had gone to Wal-Mart for some grocery shopping and got a call from D while I was in the store. She said she wanted to offer me the job - which I had preferred - and asked if I was still interested. She said she had not yet been able to talk with anyone in HR to know what salary she could offer, but would call me back tomorrow with the offer. On my way home from the store, D called again and said she had tracked down the person she needed to talk to about the salary and made me an offer. The offer was great and I knew then that the extra 15-minute commute would not be a problem anymore!

The department where I will be working is small - only ten employees, which I think will be great! I was able to meet everyone in the office the day I interviewed and knew then that they were a good group to work with and knew that I would enjoy the camaraderie they obviously shared.

I'm excited about the job! I go in Monday for a drug screen and TB test and once the results are back on those tests plus my background check, I'll be starting the new job! The location of the department is in a Children's Hospital, which I think will be a great place to work! We have frequent contact with the doctors, residents and medical students, which I think will be interesting as well.

I'm looking forward to the Easter Service tomorrow at LifeChurch where I will be attending with Michael, Elizabeth and Addyson. I'm sure it will be a good service.

Chance got in some driving time with Jody this week, which is definitely a good thing! He is going with a friend to Myrtle Beach, SC in June and one of the things they will be doing is driving race cars while they're there. He's had his permit for quite some time so all he needs now is the driving experience in order to get his license. I'm sure there will be no problem with him getting it before they leave.

My flowerbeds are so pretty with all the flowers blooming. I hope they stay that way! The weather here, for the last few days, has been cold! We even had a freeze warning for last night, but Jody and Chance covered all my flowers with plastic, so hopefully they will be okay!
Well, that's a recap of my week. Hope you all enjoy the Easter weekend and have a great week coming up!
