2.... My first-born will be 27 in a couple of weeks! You know how close to 30 that is? 3.... I was a key-punch operator in my early 20's! We were talking about the key-punch operators and ancient computers today at work. Remember the noisy machines with the keyboard you typed on making holes in the cards that were then carried to another building and put into huge computers and gave you printed reports! Yeah, I think that's pretty old! 4.... My son gets a thrill out of hearing me answer him when he (loudly) asks me my age when we are in public! Really, I don't see the humor in it, but he certainly enjoys it! 5.... I have decided to stop coloring my hair! You know what it costs to have highlights put in? Why should I spend all that money when I have my own God-given gift of beautiful silver highlights! 6.... I now opt for comfort rather than fashion for my shoes! If comfort and fashion actually make it together in a pair - what a find! 7.... I fall asleep on the couch around 9:00, 9:30 every evening! That used to be the time I was just heading out for an evening of fun! 8.... I have to stand up and walk a bit at least once every hour! If I sit in one place (such as my desk at work) any longer than that, I get stiff! Yeah, try walking that out! 9.... I need to invest in lotions - hand, body, face, heel cream, cuticle cream, anti-wrinkle cream, elbow cream . . . the list goes on and on! 10... I'm thinking about buying our cemetery plots! Yes, I really am! If you knew you would be needing a "home" - a place to move into - wouldn't you want to pick it out early? Who wants to wait until the last minute when everything's been picked over! 11... My 5th grandchild will be arriving in a couple of weeks! Number 5! I guess I never thought about the number of grandchildren I would have - they outnumber my children now! 12... I find that I usually have to drive in the right hand lane of traffic because everyone else is passing me! I think they're just all in too big a hurry! 13... Last but not least - I did turn 50 in November! That a real milestone and I'm enjoying my maturity, wisdom and new discounts I'm discovering come with age! In His Love and Blessings annb |

There are so many seasons of life and I want to enjoy them ALL...from youth to aging..to seeing my babies to grandbabies...it is all good!
ReplyDeleteLovely post. I am getting there as well. Seven grandchildren. My oldest will be 35 this year...UGH...But I am happy. I am just becoming the icing on my own cake! Have a grand TT.
ReplyDeleteOh my.....I totally get you on the first two!! My oldest would have been 16 this month......makes me feel older than I really am. I am up too.
ReplyDelete7.... I fall asleep on the couch around 9:00, 9:30 every evening! That used to be the time I was just heading out for an evening of fun!
ReplyDeleteYes, but I'm doing that, and I'm not out of my 30's...yet...My kids EXHAUST me!
Good list. I have a hard time believing you'll be fine without hair color for long, though. You look too young...how are you gonna feel when you look old because of your hair?
ReplyDeleteP.S. I think we're going to buy our cemetary plots soon, too. Am I going to die at the age of 90 or 30? I have no idea. What I DO know is that I don't want my family to be financially burdened when I go.
ReplyDeletePLUS...look how much money Grandma saved by purchasing her stuff ahead of time. Even the funeral home was locked in because of her "insurance"...If I DO die at 90, but I pay for it all now...look how much I'll save!!!
ReplyDeleteI can identify with you. My youngest turns 17 this weekend, and my oldest is 25. No grandkids yet, so I can pretend I'm still young; although being a grandma sounds like fun.
ReplyDeleteYep...you are OLD! Nothing else to say.
ReplyDeleteNo, no, no! Experience and maturity and continual self-improvement should never be confused with getting old!
ReplyDeleteWell, I turn 54 this year, but I don't think I'm quite ready to give up the hair color. I'm all gray underneath! And, I haven't had the joy of being a grandma yet (which actually is okay by me because my girls are 16 and 19), but I'm looking foward to that day in about 10 years from now. . .
ReplyDeleteI hope all is well with you and yours, Ann.
